On 28 Mar., 2018, CBMI successfully signed Turnkey Contract of Algeria Djelfa cement production line with clinker capacity of 4500 TPD. Chairman of CBMI Mr. Tong Laigou and Chairman of the Owner Mr. Haddad signed the contract together on behalf of their respective company.

Djelfa Project is funded by Algeria ASEC Cement Company, which is a joint venture by Algeria ETRHB HADDAD GROUP and Algeria subsidiary of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC). The project site is located in Djelfa city, middle part of Algeria.

The project was funded by Egypt ASEC in 2008, but had to be suspended in 2011 on account of financial crisis and other reasons, 90% of the civil work was already completed before shutdown. The project is now able to continue after being purchased by ETRHB HADDAD GROUP and CSCES. The scope of work is from limestone crushing to cement packaging and delivery, which includes engineering, equipment and steel structure procurement, civil construction, erection, training and commissioning. The contract is signed on the basis of EPC, with work period 19 months from the effectiveness of contract to PAC.

Winning this contract is significant for CBMI. First of all, the two investors are both quite influential in Algeria. ETRHB HADDAD GROUP runs many different businesses in various industries of Algeria and enjoys a high reputation in the market, while CSCEC, a Chinese company that dedicated itself to Algeria market for more than 30 years, has completed a series of well-known huge projects that benefit a lot of Algerians. Signature of this contract will firm the foundation of future cooperation between CBMI and those two companies. After LAFARGEHOLCIM GROUP, GICA GROUP, BISKRIA GROUP and KOUGC GROUP, CBMI has once again expanded its client group in Algeria. Secondly, this project is the first project CSCEC ever invested in Algeria as well as the second cement plant project for ETRHB HADDAD GROUP, thus it is of vital importance to both investors. This is a project with huge difficulties, high complexity and short work period, despite the brutal competition from other four bidders, CBMI finally was finally awarded this contract after strict and careful evaluation, which proved a great recognition from the Owner on CBMI’s competence. The signing of this contract further enhances CBMI position as the company with largest cement market share in Algeria, and sets an excellent basis for its future development in Algeria.
