On May 17, 2017, the signing ceremony of CEMEX Philippines New Kiln Production Line project was held in Makati City, Philippines. CEMEX Holdings Philippines(CHP)’s President and CEO Mr. PALOMINO and CBMI Construction Co., Ltd. (CBMI) chairman of board Mr. TONG LAIGOU lead the signing ceremony. CEMEX EVP Global Cement Operation & Technology Mr. TORRES and CBMI Marketing Director Mr. Ma Aiguo signed as witness.

The contract signing between building materials leader CEMEX and CBMI, signals the beginning of the design and engineering works of Solid Cement Corporation (SCC) in the Philippines.

The large-scale development which will take place in CEMEX’s Solid Cement Plant involves the construction of a new integrated production line that has an overall capacity of 1.5 million tons of cement, with the scope from quarry crushing to package and dispatch, covering engineering, equipment supply, civil work, erection, training and commissioning.

It is the FIRST EPC Contract for CEMEX Group and it is also the FIRST cooperation between CBMI and CEMEX. Both parties would like to strengthen the basis for future cooperation with this project.

JULIO CAMARENA, Mexico's Ambassador to the Philippines, Mr. ADOLFO GARZA, CEMEX Global Engineering and Projects Director, Mr. NORMANDY CHAN, Solid Cement Plant Director, Mr. JESUS ALONSO LOPEZ, Project Director, Mr. ALBERTO AFABLE, Project Technical Manager; Mr. WANG ZHONGCHENG, CBMI Senior Technical Manager, and Mr. CHI DALIANG, CBMI Senior Account Manager, attended and witnessed the ceremonial contract signing.
